Critical reflection on Effective Communication
With the first semester coming to an end, I can conclude that effective communication has help me to improve my soft skills.
Few of my goals at the start of this module were to brush up on my presentation skills and report writing. Thus, before my presentation day, I ensure that I had enough practice to speak more confidently and fluently and avoids minor errors such as the use singlish and filler words. Through the group work, I understand the quote, "Teamwork makes the dream work.". Our team are well balance with Arthur taking up the role as a leader to guide us with the report writing and how we can improve our writing style. As I am more confident with presentation, I plan the presentation flow and the speech with the help of Yu Xiong. Thus, I am thankful for such a great team as our strengths and weakness compensate one another.
During the course of this module, I brush up on my report writing as well. Even though my grades for reader response is not the ideal grade, I believe that every mistake made is a learning point and this
setback can become a good source of motivation to work on improving in future reports.
With all these takeaways from the course, I am confident that I have improve with the way I speak and write. This module will spark my interest to constantly improve myself on my communications skills and produce better report writing. and I believe the end of this module is the start of my new journey of self-learning.
Lastly, thank you Professor Blackstone for making this class a fruitful and enjoyable during every lesson.
